EDMOND, OK. – The GVSU men's golf team opened Regional play with a good round of play to end in third-place, just one stroke back of the lead.

Harding and Missouri S&T are tied for the lead after the opening round after they shot a 276 (-4). GVSU is one stroke back of them at three under following their round of 277. Ferris State is in fourth at -1, shooting a 279. Henderson State is in fifth, carding a 280 (E).
 
Manuel Cue Vargas is tied for the lead, making six birdies in his round of 65 (-5). Drew Coble made two birdies in his round of 69 (-1), as he is tied for 19^th. In a tie for 23^rd is Nick Krueger, as he shot a 70 (E), with three birdies. Andrew Gwilliams shot a 73 (+3)  with one birdie to finish in a tie for 57^th. Bryce Wheeler is tied for 89^th at six over after his round of 76 with one birdie.
 
The Lakers tee off early in round two. They are the opening group on the second day, teeing off at 7:30 am CST.
