ORLANDO, FLA. – The GVSU men's golf team ended day two of the NCAA Championships in a tie for seventh place heading into tomorrow's third round.

Oklahoma Christian continues to lead, opening up a nine-stroke advantage at -16. In a tie for second are West Florida and Colorado Christian at nine under. Central Oklahoma is fourth at -5, followed by West Texas A&M in fifth at -2. GVSU is tied for seventh at Wingate at +1. They need to stay in the top eight to move on to the quarterfinals on Saturday.
Manuel Cue Vargas is the top golfer for the Lakers, ending day two at two under. He shot at 75 (+4) today with one birdie.
Drew Coble is tied for 21
st at one under following his round of f73 (+2) with four birdies.
Nick Krueger sank six birdies today during his round of 71 (E) to climb up to a tie for 54
th.
Charlie Cooley is tied for 65
th at four over, as he shot an even par 71 today with one birdie.
Bryce Wheeler carded a 76 (+5) with two birdies to end in a tie for 76
th.
GVSU is paired with Wingate and Henderson State tomorrow for the final round of stroke play. They tee off starting at 11:10.
