GVSU has won the two previous matchups this season with the Panthers. They won 13-3 last Friday at home, then followed that up with a 9-4 win on Monday in the regular season finale. In the home game, Hailey Crittenden, Maddy Champagne, and Sydney Stone all tallied hat tricks to pace the Lakers. The defense caused 20 turnovers and picked up 31 groundballs in front of Kaylyn Cater, who made three saves in the win.

On Monday, the two teams were tied at four at the break, but GVSU outscored them 5-0 in the second half to pull away with the win. Stone once again recorded a hat trick, with Zoe Ziegler scoring twice. Champagne had four points to put her at 226 for her career, making her the highest scoring Laker in program history. Cater had five stops in net as GVSU closed out a perfect 6-0 regular season GLIAC slate.

This will be the second straight season the Lakers and Panthers meet up in the GLIAC Tournament semifinals, as GVSU cruise to a 21-2 victory last year. Champagne scored four times in the win, with Sydney Stone and Ashleigh Rothe both adding hat tricks. Cater got the win in the cage, notching three saves.

The Lakers are looking for their fourth consecutive GLIAC Tournament championship and their eighth overall tournament title.
