Grand Valley State has advanced to the NCAA Division II Baseball Midwest Regional #2 for the first time since 2016 after capturing the 2024 GLIAC Baseball Tournament Championship and will open NCAA action Thursday (May 16) versus GLVC Tournament Champion Maryville. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at the University of Indianapolis. The Lakers claimed a 5-3 victory over Saginaw Valley State in the GLIAC title game to earn the postseason berth. GVSU has won eight consecutive games, including a 4-0 mark at the GLIAC Tournament. The Lakers, who are their making its 18th NCAA Tournament appearance all-time, sport a 46-37 record in NCAA postseason play.

° Junior LF Ryan Dykstra...1st Team All-GLIAC...He is hitting .397 with 27 hits and 28 RBI in his last 17 games...Tallied 17 multi-hit games and a team-best 17 multi-RBI games...Dykstra has a GVSU record two 5-hit games this season.

° Senior CF Kyle Nott...1st Team All-GLIAC...GLIAC All-Tournament...Reached base in 43-of-45 games played this season, including a program record 33 consecutive to start the season...Including hits (56)-walks (29)-HBP (7), Nott has reached base safely 92 times in 45 games...One of two in GVSU history to reach 211 hits-165 runs-105 RBI-51 stolen bases...Hitting a team-best .335 with 56 hits and 43 runs scored.  

° Junior C Brendan Guciardo...2nd Team All-GLIAC...He is hitting .308 with 48 hits, 32 runs scored, 13 doubles and 29 RBI...He hit .398 with 10 doubles and 21 RBI in GLIAC action.
 
° Senior SS Connor Schuman...HM All-GLIAC...He is hitting .296 with 60 hits, 13 doubles, 37 runs scored and 32 RBI....Schuman has 20 multi-hit games.

° Junior 3B Jonas Gulbrandsen...1st Team All-GLIAC...He is hitting .332, with a team-high 70 hits, while ranking second in RBI with 43...Leads team in double (14) and home runs (11)...Gulbrandsen has 21 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games.

° Sophomore 2B Ayden VanEnkevort...HM All-GLIAC...GLIAC All-Tournament...He is hitting .285 with 39 hits, 25 runs scored and 26 RBI...Hitting .313 with 21 hits, 13 runs and 10 RBI since being inserted into the leadoff spot. 

° Senior 3B Jake Rydquist...GLIAC All-Tournament...Rydquist is on fire, hitting .439 in his last 17 games with 25 hits, 18 RBI, 15 runs scored, four doubles and three home runs...Rydquist hit .437 in the GLIAC (7-15) with three doubles.

° Senior RF Nate Logan is GVSU's all-time leader in doubles (52)...Logan is hitting .256 this season with 45 hits, 36 RBI and 36 runs scored...Career 206-hit, 119-run, 148-RBI. 
 
° Senior 1B Logan Anderson is hitting .316 with 18 hits, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored in his last 17 games...Hit a game-winning, 3-run HR vs. Davenport in Friday's GLIAC Tourney game.
