Men's Golf Advances to National Championships

EDMOND, OK. – The GVSU men's golf has advanced to the National Championships, following a fourth-place finish at Super Regionals. This will be the third straight year the Lakers have moved on to Nationals.

Central Oklahoma had a fantastic final round, shooting a 267 (-13) to climb two spots into the lead to take the team title at -17. Henderson State also shot -13 today, finishing one stroke back at -16. Harding was third at -10, followed by the Lakers at nine under following their day of 278 (-2). Ferris State was the final team to advance to Nationals, as they were fifth at -6.
 
Manuel Cue Vargas ended in a tie for third at seven under. He shot a final round of 68 (-2) with five birdies. Drew Coble was also in the top ten, finishing in a tie for seventh. Coble also carded a round of 68, making five birdies to end at -5. Nick Krueger had third round score of 72 (+2), making one birdie to end at one over. Andrew Gwilliams ended in a tie for 51st at +5. He made five birdies in his round of 70 (E). In a tie for 67th was Bryce Wheeler as he carded a final round score of 72 (+2)with four birdies to end at +7.
 
Nationals will take place from May 21st through the 25th down in Orlando, Florida.
