Lakers Move Up to Second in Regionals

EDMOND, OK. – The GVSU men's golf team stayed near the top of the leaderboard at the NCAA Super Regionals following day two of action. The Lakers are in second place after round two, within striking distance of the leader heading into tomorrow's final round.
 
Results
 
Harding continue to lead at nine under, after their round of 275. GVSU is two strokes behind them at seven under, carding a second round of 276. Central Oklahoma climbed three spots in third at three under. In a tie for fourth is Ferris State, Missouri S&T, and Henderson State. All three teams are at one under.
 
Manuel Cue Vargas continues to play well, shooting a second round of 70 (E) with three birdies, as he is tied for second at five under. Drew Coble is in a tie for seventh at -3, after his round of 68 (-2), sinking two birdies. Nick Krueger made seven birdies in his round of 69 (-1) to finish the day in a tie for 17th at one under. Bryce Wheeler and Andrew Gwilliams are both tied for 64th at five over. Wheeler made three birdies in his round of 69 (-1). Gwilliams had one birdie, shooting a 72 (+2).
 
GVSU will play the final round with Harding and Central Oklahoma. They tee off starting 12:40 CST.
