Hailey Crittenden and
Aislynn Alkire taking home the honors for the Lakers, as they sweep the awards for the fourth time this season.
For the second consecutive week, Grand Valley State senior attacker
Hailey Crittenden was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. Over the opening weekend of GLIAC play, Crittenden scored nine times to help lead the Lakers to two victories. She scored four times in the 17-6 win over Northern Michigan on Friday, then followed that up with five more goals in the 16-1 win over CSP. Her 28 goals rank fifth in the GLIAC, and her 32 points ranks ninth.
Earning her third GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors was GVSU senior defender
Aislynn Alkire. Alkire tallied five groundballs and caused two turnovers over the two Laker victories. She had two groundballs and a caused turnover against Nothern Michigan, then followed that up with three more groundballs and one caused turnover versus Concordia-St. Paul. She was a part of the GVSU defensive unit that held both opponents to their lowest scoring output of the season.
