Lakers still in First Down in Noblesville

NOBLESVILLE, IND. – The GVSU men's golf team maintained their hold on the top spot at the Ken Partridge Invitational after two rounds of play. The Lakers sit six strokes up on second place, with only 18 holes to play tomorrow.
 
Results
 
The Lakers shot a second round score of 279 (-9) to continue to lead by six strokes, going into tomorrow's final round at two under. In second place is UIndy, who also shot a round of 279, sitting at +4. Missouri S&T is in third at +8, as they carded a round of 281 (-7), followed by UMSL in fourth at +16, shooting a second round score of 291 (+3). Rounding out the top five is Wayne State, who had a round score of 282 (-6), as they enter the final round at +18.
 
Bryce Wheeler and Drew Coble are both tied for third after two rounds. Wheeler shot a 71 (-1) today with five birdies and is at three under. Coble is also at three under after his round of 68 (-4), as he made six birdies, including the final three holes of the day. Charlie Cooley is in a tie for fifth at even par, as he carded a round of 1 (-1) today, making four birdies. Nick Krueger shot a 69 (-3) today with five birdies to climb into a tie for 16th at four over. Manuel Cue Vargas is in a tie for 68th at +12, as he shot a round of 77 (+5) with two birdies.
 
GVSU plays the final round of the tournament tomorrow.
