ALLENDALE, MICH. – For the first time this season, the GVSU women's lacrosse teams has a player earn National Player of the Week honors.
Hailey Crittenden took home the IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week following her career-high six goals last week.
After earning her first career GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week award,
Hailey Crittenden topped that by earning IWLCA Division II National Offensive Player of the Week. She scored a career-high six goals in last Thursday's 16-9 victory over Indianapolis. Crittenden had a hat trick already tallied by the end of the first half, then recorded three more in the second half to help secure the win. She also added an assist and three groundballs. Her six goals brought her to 19 on the year and helped the ninth-ranked Lakers move to 8-1 this season.
Crittenden is the first player this season to be honored nationally, and the second in the past two years. She joins
Sarah Krause, who was the National Defensive Player of the Week following the Midwest regionals.
