No. 7 Lakers on the Road at Ferris State Friday

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 7 Grand Valley State softball resumes GLIAC play on the road at Ferris State Friday (Mar. 29) afternoon. First pitch for game one is set for 2:00 PM in Big Rapids.
 
GVSU is 19-6 on the season and are coming off a nonconference doubleheader split against Lewis. The Lakers won game one 8-5 in extra innings before falling 2-1 in extra innings in game two. 
 
Hannah Hollister leads the Lakers with a .421 batting average and is a perfect 23-23 in stolen base attempts. Hollister also leads the team with 32 hits, 19 walks, and 28 runs scored. Kelsey Komorous has notched a .403 batting average and leads the team with 30 RBI's. Freshman pitcher Kylie Swierkos leads the GLIAC with a 0.81 ERA and has posted a 4-1 record in the circle. 
 
Ferris State is 13-14 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The Bulldogs split a doubleheader against Saginaw Valley State to start their GLIAC schedule. Ferris State is led by Alexis Kozlowski who has hit .391 this season with 36 hits, 31 RBI, 15 runs scored, 14 doubles, and four home runs. Emily Killion has notched a .333 average with 22 hits, 13 RBI, and 10 runs scored. Catherina O'Donohue has made 12 appearances in the circle tossing a 1.73 ERA with 36 strikeouts.
