ALLENDALE, MICH. – The regular season has come to a close, and postseason play is right around the corner for GVSU women's lacrosse. The Lakers will take part in the GLIAC tournament this weekend, starting tomorrow with a semifinal matchup with Davenport at 3:00pm at the GVSU Lacrosse Field.

The Lakers swept Davenport in both matchups this season, winning 21-10 on the road and 14-5 at home on Senior Day. In the win at DU,
Maddy Champagne scored six times,
Molly Bursinger netted five goals, and
Ashleigh Rothe added a hat trick. On Senior Day, Champagne scored four times, and Bursinger and
Maggie Hammer each scored three times. The Lakers are 12-0 all-time against the Panthers.
GVSU completed a perfect run through GLIAC play, capping off the 6-0 conference record with a decisive 23-10 win over Northern Michigan last Sunday. The win moved the Lakers to 12-4 on the season, and they are ranked 16
th nationally by the IWLCA, and they are fourth in the most recent NCAA Midwest Regional poll. Bursinger and Champagne each scored five goals in the win, while
Hailey Crittenden and Hammer scored four apiece. Bursinger and
Hope Leinen were named GLIAC Offensive and Defensive players of the Week for they efforts in the win.
Davenport is 2-14 and 0-6 in GLIAC play this season. The Panthers are 1-9 on the road, last winning away from Grand Rapids in early March. Blakley Malpass leads the team with 46 points on 38 goals and eight assists, ranking fifth in the conference in goals. Maisy Latus is the only Panther to play in net this year, as she has saved 183 shots on a .461 save percentage.
