Lacrosse Closes Out Home Schedule Tomorrow With Senior Day

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The regular season home schedule will commence tomorrow for the Grand Valley women's lacrosse team as Davenport comes to Allendale. The Lakers will also honor their seven seniors before the noon game.

Maggie Hammer, Shae Strehl, Kate DeYoung, Audrey Maloney, Molly Bursinger, Anna Reynolds, and Clare Johnston will all be honored before tomorrow's game. The group has won 58 games, two GLIAC regular season titles, two GLIAC tournament titles, and made a trip to the NCAA tournament where they won the first tournament game in program history.
 
This will be the second time this week that the Lakers will be taking on Davenport, as they defeated them 21-10 on Wednesday in their highest scoring output of the season. Maddy Champagne scored six times in the game and Bursinger added five to pace GVSU. The win was the 27th straight GLIAC win for the Lakers and kept them perfect in conference play this year at 4-1.
 
GVSU was also in action Friday afternoon at Walsh, as they also picked up a win there, using a dominant second half to come away with a 16-5 win. Hammer scored five times in the win and Bursinger scored four more times. The win moved the Lakers to 10-4 this year and was their seventh straight victory of the year. The 10th win marked the 10th time in program history the team has won double-digit games in a season.
 
This will Davenport's first game since Wednesday, and they are 2-12 this season and 0-4 in GLIAC play. Their leading scorer is Blakely Malpass, who has scored 36 times in the 14 games. Maisy Latus has started all 14 games in net this season, saving 161 shots and posting a .463 save percentage. Davenport is still winless against the Lakers in program history, going 0-11.
