Women's Lacrosse Set To Travel To Ohio For Matchup With Notre Dame College

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley women's lacrosse team hits the road once again for another nonconference contest, as they head down to Ohio for a Sunday afternoon game against Notre Dame College at noon.

The Lakers enter the game riding a three-game winning streak, defeating Mercyhurst, Concordia-St. Paul, and Northern Michigan in that span to improve to 6-4 on the season. GVSU is atop the GLIAC standings after beating NMU yesterday 16-8. Maddy Champagne had a big game, scoring five goals and grabbing six draw controls, and she leads the team with 36 points. Molly Bursinger is right behind her with 35 points, and the duo have helped GVSU be one of the most dominant draw control units in the nation. Both Champagne and Bursinger have grabbed over 50 draw controls, and as a team the Lakers have 175, compared to only 106 for their opponents.
 
Despite a 3-5 record, Notre Dame comes into the game on a three-game winning streak, beating Quincy, West Virginia Wesleyan, and Davis & Elkins. The Falcons have been outscored 103-74 this season, and their goalkeepers have only registered a .309 save percentage. Offensively, Jamira Mashore leads the team with 21 points on 10 goals and 11 assists, while Kendal Johnson and Joselyn Storm each have 15 points. This will be NDC's second home game this season, and they are 1-0 on their home field.
