ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley women's lacrosse team swept the GLIAC Players of the Week awards this week.
Sydney Stone claimed the Offensive Player of the Week and
Kylie Waeghe earned Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
Sydney Stone earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for her performance this past weekend. This is the first GLIAC Player of the Week that Stone has earned in her career. In two games this weekend, she scored seven goals and had one assist for eight total points. She scored a career-high tying five goals in the 13-8 win over Colorado Mesa, while also dishing out one assist. In the game against Regis on Sunday, Stone added two more goals to bring her total to 10 goals this season.

Kylie Waeghe picked up her first career GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honor following a strong weekend out in Colorado. Waeghe recorded 10 groundballs and four caused turnovers against two ranked opponents. In the win over Colorado Mesa, Waeghe picked up six groundballs and forced two turnovers, both of which set career-highs. Against Regis, she grabbed four groundballs and caused two more turnovers, while also picking up a draw control.
