FINDLAY, OHIO – After having a three-week break, the GVSU men's golf team was back on the course at the Doc Spragg Invitational. They showed no signs of rust, leading by three strokes after two rounds of play.
Results
GVSU shot rounds of 279 and 283 to end at -14, three strokes ahead of second place and host Findlay. In a tie for third is UIndy and Tiffin at six under par, followed by Ashland and Ferris State rounding out the top five in a tie for fifth at four under.
Drew Coble is one stroke back of the lead, tied for third at five under. Coble shot rounds of 69 and 70, making eight birdies along the way. One stroke back of him in a tie for seventh is
Nick Krueger, as he had rounds of 69 and 71 with eight birdies.
Charlie Cooley and
Andrew Gwilliams are tied for 11
th, at three under par. Cooley had rounds of 70 and 71, sinking eight birdies, while Gwilliams had rounds of 71 and 70, carding eight birdies and an eagle.
Alex Jordan is tied for 18
th at two under, shooting two rounds of 71, sinking six birdies.
Manuel Cue Vargas made seven birdies over his rounds of 71 and 72, as he is currently tied for 23
rd.
The Lakers finish out the event tomorrow with the final 18 holes of play. They are scheduled to tee off in the morning at 9:00.
