GVSU Claims 2nd & 3rd Spot in USTFCCCA Ranking for 2nd Week in A Row

ALLENDALE, MICH.- After a one week break, the Grand Valley State Cross Country team comes back to action this week after claiming 2nd (women) and 3rd (men) in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll, accompanied by a 1st place ranking for both men & women in the Regional Polls for the 2nd week in a row. 
 
The Lakers last competed on Sept. 16th at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. where the men secured a 1stplace finish with a total of 45 points and the women a 2nd place finish scoring a total of 71 points. 
 
Senior, Tanner Chada was the overall winner for the Lakers in the men's 8k race finishing with a time of 24:03.70, roughly 30 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher. On the women's side, Natalie Graber was the first Laker to finish the 6k coming in at 4th place with a time of 21:27.00.
 
GVSU finished with twenty-four runners in the Top 50 and eight in the Top 20; Andrew Hylen (8th), Koby Fraaza (9th), Klaudia O'Malley (14th), Brock Wooderson (15th), Sam Martens (16th) and Taryn Chapko (18th).
