ALLENDALE, MICH.- After a one week break, the Grand Valley State Cross Country team comes back to action this week after claiming 2
nd (women) and 3
rd (men) in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll, accompanied by a 1
st place ranking for both men & women in the Regional Polls for the 2
nd week in a row.
The Lakers last competed on Sept. 16
th at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Mich. where the men secured a 1
stplace finish with a total of 45 points and the women a 2
nd place finish scoring a total of 71 points.
Senior,
Tanner Chada was the overall winner for the Lakers in the men's 8k race finishing with a time of 24:03.70, roughly 30 seconds ahead of the 2
nd place finisher. On the women's side,
Natalie Graber was the first Laker to finish the 6k coming in at 4
th place with a time of 21:27.00.
GVSU finished with twenty-four runners in the Top 50 and eight in the Top 20;
