ALLENDALE, Mich. – The No. 8 Grand Valley State women's soccer team returns home for a pair of GLIAC contests this weekend. The Lakers will face Parkside under the lights on Friday (Sept. 16) at 7:00 pm and Purdue Northwest on Sunday at 1:00 pm for alumni day with a 100 kids vs the team event hosted after the game. 
 
The Lakers opened GLIAC play last weekend on the road at Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State. GVSU played to a scoreless draw against Ferris State, before defeating Saginaw Valley State 3-2. Sophomore goalkeeper Kendall Robertson made five saves in the shutout draw for her third shutout of the season and four saves in the win over SVSU. Junior forward Taylor Reid scored two goals and dished out an assist in the 3-2 win, while senior forward Kennedy Bearden added a goal and assist.
 
A diverse offensive attack has seen seven different Lakers score goals this season. Bearden leads the team with six points from two goals and two assists, while also leading with 16 shots including eight on goal. Reid is second on the team with five points, while sophomore Ryann Fetty has a goal and two assists on the season for four points. Robertson has started all six games between the pipes and has made 25 saves with a GLIAC leading .833 save percentage. 
 
Parkside enter Allendale with a 4-2 overall record and 1-1 mark in GLIAC play. The Rangers started off the season 3-1 in non-conference play. Last weekend, Parkside opened GLIAC play last weekend at home with a loss to Northern Michigan and a win against Michigan Tech. The Lakers are 13-4 all time against the Rangers and have won the last 10 meetings. 
 
The Rangers are led by senior forward Alexis Baker who leads the league with five goals and twelve points. Baker has found the back of the net in four of the last five games. Junior goalkeeper Mia Guyton has earned a 3-0 record in goal in four appearances with three starts for the Rangers. Guyton has stopped 20 shots and has a .833 save percentage which is tied for the GLIAC lead with Robertson. 
 
On Sunday, the Lakers take on a Purdue Northwest team that enters the weekend with an 0-5-1 overall record and 0-2 ledger in GLIAC play. The Pride will travel to face Davenport on Friday, before making the trip to Allendale on Sunday. The Lakers are 5-0 in the all-time meetings against Purdue Northwest. Senior forward Kaci Pampreen has scored both goals this season for the Pride and leads the team with four points and five shots. Senior goalkeeper Bridget Grady has made six appearances and five starts in goal for the Pride. Grady leads the GLIAC with 43 saves and has a .796 save percentage.
