ALLENDALE, Mich. - Sophomore goalkeeper Kendall Robertson has been named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference today (Aug. 30). The No. 1 Lakers opened the 2022 season with a pair of shutout wins in St. Louis, defeating Missouri S&T 3-0 on Thursday (Aug. 25) and Maryville 1-0, Saturday (Aug. 27).
 
Robertson started both games between the pipes last weekend, earning the wins to start the year with a 2-0 record. The sophomore played a total of 163 minutes, making five saves on all five shot on goal attempts. Robertson is now up to nine shutouts in her early GVSU career and has improved her career record to 15-1-1.
