Lakers in First at the End of Day One

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Grand Valley State men's golf team is in first place at the end of day one of the Findlay Spring Invite at the University of Kentucky, Big Blue Course. The Lakers are currently sitting at -10 through 15-holes in the second round. The round was cut short due to darkness. 

Charles DeLong led the Lakers at five-under par through the first round of golf and continued to grow his lead in the second round to seven-under par through 15-holes. Delong started the day with a birdie on the first hole of the invite, par 4. He has notched nine birdies throughout the first 33 of 54-holes.  Nick Krueger leads the invite in birdies registering six in the first round and five in the second. Krueger is tied for second after 16-holes in the second round sitting at six-under par (131). 

Eric Nunn is currently tied for 28th at one-over par. In the first round, Nunn notched three birdies ending the round at +1. In the second round, Nunn has notched three birdies in 15-holes sitting at even par in the round. Drew Coble is tied for 46th at three-over par through 34-holes. Tanner Moore completed the Lakers lineup tied for 90th at +11 through 16-holes in the second round. Moore scored the only eagle of the day for the Lakers on a par 5 481-yard fifth-hole. 

Day Two of the Findlay Spring Invite will now begin at 10:00 am with a shotgun start.
