Men's Golf Stays In First At Folds Of Honor Challenge

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The GVSU men's golf team finished off round two of the Folds of Honor Challenge at the Meadows Golf Course, still holding on to the top spot on the leaderboard.

GVSU carded a 289 (+5) today to stay in first, up by four strokes at +4. In a tie for second are Wayne State and Mississippi Gulf Coast, who ended round two at nine over par. Odessa and Aurora are tied for fourth, ending at +15.
 
Bryce Wheeler, Charlie Cooley, and Andrew Gwilliams are all tied for second after two rounds at even par. Gwilliams shot an even par 71 today with three birdies, while Wheeler carded a 72 (+1) with five birdies, and Cooley carded at 73 (+2) with three birdies and an eagle. Manuel Cue Vargas and Murphy Kehoe ended the second round at one over to tie for sixth. Cue shot an even par 71 with two birdies and Kehoe made four birdies in his round of 72.
 
Maverick Conaway made one birdie in his round of 73 to sit in a tie for 14th at three over. In a tie for 25th is Ryan Gallagher at six over. The sophomore carded a 76 (+5) with one birdie today. Emil Olofsson sank three birdies in his round of 76, to finish in a tie for 30th at eight over. Finley Dober shot a 79 to finish tied for 40th at +11.
 
The first Laker will tee off at 12:20, but the starting five will start to tee off at 1:20, paired with Wayne State and Mississippi Gulf Coast.
