SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. - The Grand Valley State men's golf team is in second after the first two rounds of the Bell Collegiate hosted by Hillsdale at Mid Pines Golf Club carding a team score of 586 (+10). Sandhills Community College is in first place with 579 (+3), followed by Ohio Dominican in third with 592 (+16). The Lakers lead the tournament in pars with 103, and second in eagles (2).
Charles DeLong started the day with two birdies in the front nine, followed by an eagle on a par five 514-yard 10th hole. DeLong notched six birdies throughout the first two rounds of golf and is in second place overall four-under par (140).
Nick Krueger shot three birdies in the back nine of the opening round and two more in the second round of golf ending the day carding 147 (+3) and is currently tied for eight.
Drew Coble notched his first eagle of the season in the second round on a par 5 484-yard fifth hole, followed by a birdie on the sixth. Coble is currently tied for 11th carding 148 (+4).
Eric Nunn is tied for 19th scoring seven-over par (151). Nunn shot six birdies throughout the two rounds, but was troubled by his two double bogeys in the first nine.
Tanner Moore started his career as Laker shooting a birdie on the first hole of the day par 4 401-yards. Moore sits at T43 carding 161 (+17). Competing individually,
Alex Jordan is tied for 46th carding 162 (+18).
