The Grand Valley State men's and women's swimming & Diving teams competed Friday (March 11) at the 2022 NCAA DII Swimming & Diving Championships being held in Greensboro, N.C. The Laker men are 11th with 96 points, while the women are 26th with 15 points.
The men's 800 free relay team of
Matt Bosch,
Roger Miret Sala,
Eric Hieber and
Keegan Hawkins finished fourth in a time of 6:29.99, setting a GLIAC and GVSU varsity record in the process.
Sophomore
Eric Hieber finished 10
th in the 500 free (4:25.37), while
Jon Kantzenbach touched 12
th (4:25.88).
Keegan Hawkins finished 22
nd in the 100 breast (54.76) and
Oscar Saura-Armengol touched 21
st in the 200 fly (1:48.71).
Wrigley Fields finished 12
th on the 3-meter board (407.30), followed by
George Peuhl in 14
th (384.55) and
Cyrus Irwin in 17
th (367.10).
Melina DeCort touched 18
th in the 100 back (55.80), while
Delaney Wihebrink finished 22
nd in the 100 breast.
The women's 800 free relay (Melina DeCort,

Delaney Wihebrink) finished 18th in a time 7:48.30.
