GVSU Takes On Jayhawk Invitational

Grand Valley State ended off the racing weekend in Muskegon, Mich. competing in the Jayhawk Invitational where both the men's and women's cross country teams took home second place. 
 
The Laker men finished with four runners in the Top 20, scoring a total of 73 points finishing ahead of Lansing (81 points). Patrick Lyell was the first Grand Valley State runner to finish the men's 8k with a time of 24:56.4 placing fifth overall. 
 
 On the women's side, Grand Valley State had another four runners finishing in the Top 20 recording a total score of 54 points, falling shortly behind Lansing (36 points). Hannah Bodine was first overall in the women's 5k race to cross the line with a time of 18:31.5, following shortly behind was Paige McAloon placing fifth with a time of 18:46.2.
