EUREKA, MO. – The Grand Valley women's golf team traveled down to Missouri for the NCAA Nationals Preview. In a loaded field featuring eight nationally ranked teams by the WGCA, the Lakers ended the first two rounds in sixth place.
"We played well for 27 holes and hung with the #1 team in the country but unfortunately we got a little tired for our final nine holes," said head coach
Rebecca Mailloux.
Following the first 36 holes of play, top ranked Dallas Baptist is in first at +18, followed by West Texas A&M in second, carding a thirty over. In third place was Missouri-St. Louis, who shot a +34. Henderson State was fourth at +35, while Central Missouri was fifth with a +45, and GVSU ended the day in sixth at +46.
Olivia Stoll finished the opening two rounds in a tie for fifth place at five over. She carded two birdies through those two rounds.
Paula Badino ended the day in a tie for 19
th( +11), shooting rounds of 77 and 78 with three birdies on the day. Ending the day in a tie for 27
th (+13) after four birdies on the day was
Megan Miron.
Julia Sanchez completed the first two rounds in a tie for 43
rd (+17) after carding two birdies throughout the day.
