ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The No. 8 Grand Valley State Lakers head to New York for a top-25 matchup with the No. 21 ranked Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks on Thursday evening. GVSU enters the game with a record of 8-1, while Roberts Wesleyan holds a perfect 9-0 resume.

Posting a brief pause in GLIAC play, Thursday's game marks the Lakers' fifth non-conference game, with the lone loss of the season coming against top-ranked UIndy. In the net, the Redhawks outscore their opponents, 174-75, while the Lakers outscore competitors, 151-56, creating cause for a highly-offensive game.  Both GVSU (130-92) and Roberts Wesleyan (155-107) lead the match from the draw. Â

For the third time this season,
Maddy Champagne collected the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week nod, making her the most-represented conference honoree. Last week, the Laker freshman notched nine goals and dished out three assists while controlling 13 draws. Champagne now ranks atop the GLIAC leaderboard in goals scored with 37. Roberts Wesleyan's Madison Bell tied Champagne's 37 goals with a five-goal game in the win over Molloy.Â
Â
The women in blue lead the all-time history with the Redhawks, having secured all three wins from 2013-2015. The highest margin of victory came in 2014 when GVSU posted a dominant 17-4 decision.Â
Â
GVSU resumes GLIAC action with a weekend road trip to Ashland, marking the final meeting as conference foes. The Lakers head to Davenport on Tuesday to end the regular season and will compete for a GLIAC Tournament title (May 7-9) the following week.    Â
