No. 11 Lakers prepare for two-game road trip

GVSU travels to Ohio and Pennsylvania for match-up

FINDLAY, Ohio – The No. 11 Grand Valley State women's lacrosse team hits the road for a two-game stretch beginning with action at Findlay on Wednesday, March 10.  The last meeting between the Lakers and Oilers ended in an 18-17 win favoring GVSU, bringing the all-time matchup to a record of seven wins and no losses. 
 
GVSU opened the season at Tiffin (Feb. 28) with a hearty win over the Dragons, 21-3, that included four players netting multiple goals.  Freshman Maddy Champagne made a statement in her collegiate debut with five goals, two assists and nine draw controls.  Champagne was honored as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, while junior Maggie Hammer picked up the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after adding three draw controls and four caused turnovers. 
 
The Lakers head to Indiana (Pa.) on Friday before opening at home against No. 3, Indianapolis, on March 20. The Lakers and Greyhounds last met in 2020 that saw the Greyhounds post a 14-11 decision.
