NORTON SHORES, Mich. - Scott Spaanstra leads the Lakers to a first-place victory at the Jayhawk Invitational with a time of 25:48.92. Justin Hill scored second with a time of 26:15.00, and Foster Thorburn scored fifth with a time of 26:35.44. The Laker men scored 36 points beating out Lansing in second place with 42 points, and St. Clair County Community in third with 108 points. 

Rounding out the Lakers' score was Jacob DeBoer clocking in with a time of 27:01.62 scoring 11th, followed by Chris Allen scoring 17th with a time of 27:25.27. Brendan Faulkner crossed the line placing 51st with a time of 28:16.33, followed by Noah Fuerst stopping the clock at 28:16.83.

The Laker women were led by Jeannee Hill in fifth with a personal-best time of 19:18.62. Paige McAloon finished seventh with a personal-best time of 19:29.64, Kaylee Thompson crossed the line in 10th place (19:39.37), and Cameron Cleveland in 15th place with a time of 19:57.60. No team scores were added for the four Laker women. 

The Lakers' regular season comes to an end, as they now enter the championships. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships will take place on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Saginaw Valley State with the women competing at 11:00 a.m., followed by the men at 11:45 a.m.
