The No. 2-seed Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell to the No. 3 seed Ferris State, 4-2, in the 2019 GLIAC Tennis Tournament semifinals in Midland, Mich. on Saturday (April 27) afternoon. With the loss the Lakers are now 16-7 on the year and will face No. 4 Northwood in a 3rd-place match tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

 The Lakers scored the match's first point of the afternoon, after they captured the doubles' point with wins from the No. 2 and No. 3 pairings.
Jack Geissler and
DJ Colantone won 7-5 from No. 2 doubles, while
Jack Dausman and
Nicholas Urban also tallied a 7-5 win from the No. 3 slot.

In singles, GVSU added to its lead after Sebastine Lescoulie won from the No. 1 spot, 6-5, 6-4. However, FSU rattled off four points in singles play to capture the win. Dausman fell in a tough three-set match from the No. 3 singles position by a score of 6-3, 3-6, 2-6, while
Martin Matov dropped a 6-0, 7-6 (4) decision from No. 4 singles. The Lakers also fell from the No. 5 and No. 6 positions as Urban was defeated in three sets by a score of 6-3, 1-6, 3-6, and
Eric Zwemer dropped a 6-2, 6-0, match from No. 6 singles.
Grand Valley State will now face No. 4 Northwood in a 3rd-place match tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
