GVSU set for weekend matches against Davenport and Purdue Northwest

The Grand Valley State men's tennis team plays its final two regular season matches this weekend as they face Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes, Davenport on Friday (April 12) at 6 p.m. in Caledonia, Mich. before returning home on Sunday (April 14) for a 1:00 p.m. matchup against Purdue Northwest at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Complex in Grandville, Mich. GVSU will also be honoring their seniors on Sunday as well.
 
The Lakers are 14-6 overall and 4-2 in the league entering this weekend after they split last weekend with a win over Ashland and a loss to Wayne State. GVSU currently sits second in the GLIAC standings and are No. 38 in the Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll. Grand Valley State has played well during dual matches this season as they are 78-39 in singles and 35-21 in doubles.
 
GVSU travels to Caledonia, Mich. to face Davenport on Friday evening at 6 p.m. as the Panthers are 11-7 overall and 3-2 in the league. In dual matches, the Panthers are 60-40 in singles and 32-22 during doubles. The Lakers will then return home on Sunday to face Purdue Northwest at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Complex as first serve is set for 1:00 p.m. The Pride are 4-9 overall this season and have gone 1-4 in the conference. During dual matches, Purdue Northwest is 25-53 in singles and 17-22 in doubles.
