The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell to Concordia (N.Y.) in a close, 4-3 match, on Thursday (March. 7) at the USTA campus in Orlando, Fla. The Lakers dropped to 8-4 on the year, while the Clippers improved to 5-2. The Lakers concluded their spring trip with a 4-3 record.

The Lakers started the match off strong as they captured the first point after they won from the No. 1 and No. 3 pairings. Playing from the No. 1 spot was
Sebastien Lescoulie and
DJ Colantone as they defeated the No. 7 doubles team in Division II by a final score of 6-2, while
Nicholas Urban and
Jack Dausman won, 6-3, from the No. 3 position.

In singles, the Lakers were only able to add two more points, as the Clippers won four out of six matches. Lescoulie played from the No. 1 singles position and won 6-2, 6-3, while Dausman tallied a 7-6(2), 7-5, win from No. 3 singles. Concordia earned its points after they won from the No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions.
Jack Geissler fell in a close three-set match from the No. 2 slot with a final score of 6-2, 4-6, 0-6, while
Martin Matov was defeated 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 4 position. The Clippers scored two more points after they won matches over
Eric Zwemer (No. 5; 3-6, 2-6) and Urban (No. 6; 3-6, 6-3, 0-4).

Grand Valley State's next match will be on Friday (March 15) when they travel to Indianapolis, Ind. to take on Division I opponent Butler at 5 p.m.
