The Grand Valley State men's tennis team defeated Coe College, 7-0, on Monday (March 4) afternoon at San Lando Park in Seminole Country, Fla. and improved to 5-1 on the year, while Coe is now 6-4 on the season. Grand Valley State will be back in action on Tuesday (March 5) when they battle Keiser at 12 p.m., before a night match against Concordia (Minn.) with first serve at 8 p.m.
The Lakers started off strong in doubles, as they captured the first point of the match with wins from all three doubles teams.
Sebastien Lescoulie and
DJ Colantone won 7-6 from the No. 1 pairing, while
Jack Geissler and
Martin Matov captured a 6-4 win from No. 2 doubles. GVSU complete the sweep after
Nicholas Urban and
Jack Dausman won 6-4 from the No. 3 slot.

Grand Valley State continued to dominate Coe, as they also swept singles play. Lescoulie played from the No. 1 singles position and won 6-3, 6-0, while Geissler won in straight sets by a score of 6-0, 6-0, from No. 2 singles. Dausman played from the No. 3 slot and won 6-0, 6-1, as Matov captured a 6-4, 6-4, win from No. 4 singles. The Lakers tallied two more points after
Eric Zwemer and Urban won from the No. 5 and No. 6 singles position. Zwemer earned a 6-2, 6-4, victory while Urban won 6-3, 6-4.
