MIDLAND, Mich. -- The Grand Valley State men's tennis team continued Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday (March 30) as they traveled to Midland, Mich. and defeated Northwood, 4-3. With the win, the Lakers are now 12-5 on the season and 2-1 in league play, while the Timberwolves drop to 7-7 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

The Lakers battled hard in the doubles, but Northwood took the match's first point as they won all three matches.

Down 1-0 heading into singles, GVSU turned things around as they won four out of six singles matches. Playing from No. 1 singles was
Sebastien Lescoulie, who won 6-1, 7-5, while
Jack Geissler tallied another point from the No. 2 position in a three set match. Geissler dropped the first set 1-6, then won the next two sets 6-4, 6-3. Northwood scored its second and third point of the match from the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, as
Jack Dausman dropped a 6-3, 6-4, decision from No. 3 singles, and
Martin Matov fell in three sets by a score of 6-1, 4-6, 5-7. The Lakers scored their final two points as
Nicholas Urban won in three sets from No. 5 singles by a score of 4-6, 7-6, 6-3, and
Eric Zwemer captured a win from the No. 6 slot by a final score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.

Grand Valley State will wrap up its weekend on Sunday (March 31) as they will return home to host Ferris State at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Club in Grandville, Mich. with first serve at 1:50 p.m.
