SAULT ST. MARIE, Mich. -- The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell to Lake Superior State, 4-3, on Saturday (March 23) in Sault St. Marie, Mich. GVSU is now 10-5 overall and 1-1 in GLIAC play, while LSSU now holds a 3-4 record on year and is 1-1 in the conference.

GVSU was unable to find their groove in doubles, as Lake Superior State took the point with wins from No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Grand Valley State was able to win from No. 1 doubles as
Sebastien Lescoulie and
DJ Colantone won 6-4.

GVSU scored all three of its points during singles, as
Jack Geissler,
Martin Matov and
Nicholas Urban all won their matches. Geissler won 6-3, 6-3, from No. 2 singles, while Matov captured a win from No. 4 singles in three sets by a score of 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-4. Urban tallied another point for Grand Valley State from the No. 6 slot in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 12-10. Playing from No. 1 singles was Lescoulie, who was defeated 7-5, 6-4, while
Jack Dausman fell at the No. 3 spot, 6-3, 7-5. Playing from the No. 5 position was Colantone, who fell 7-5, 6-3.

Grand Valley State returns home next week as they host Hillsdale on Thursday (March 28) at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Club in Grandville, Mich. with first serve at 10:30 a.m., before heading to Northwood on Saturday (March 30) and then returning home to host Ferris State on Sunday (March 31).
