Men's tennis heads to the Upper Peninsula to open GLIAC play this weekend

The Grand Valley State men's tennis team opens Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play this weekend as they head to the Upper Peninsula for matches against Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State on Friday (March 22) and Saturday (March 23), both with 10 a.m. start times.
 
The Lakers have played well this season as they hold a 9-4 overall record and are 2-0 in the Midwest region. During dual matches this season, the team has complied a 52-23 record in singles and has gone 26-9 in doubles. Additionally, Sebastien Lescoulie and DJ Colantone are also ranked as the No. 37 in the latest ITA National Doubles Team rankings.
 
GVSU will first travel to Houghton, Mich. to take on the Michigan Tech Huskies at 10 a.m. The Huskies are 2-5 this season, as they hold a 9-30 singles record during dual matches and are 8-12 in doubles.
 
Following their match against MTU, GVSU will then head to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. to battle Lake Superior State, with first serve at 10 a.m. LSSU enters the weekend with a 2-1 overall record, while they have gone 10-8 in singles and 5-4 in doubles during dual matches.
