The Grand Valley State men's tennis team is on the road again as they travel to Indiana this weekend for matches against Butler on Friday, (March 15) at 5 p.m. and Southern Indiana on Saturday, (March 16) with first serve at 12:00 p.m. The Lakers enter the weekend with an 8-3 record after they went 4-3 during their spring trip in Florida.

In dual matches, the team has seen strong play during singles asÂ
Sebastien Lescoulie and
Jack Geissler lead the way for the Lakers from No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Lescoulie has posted a 9-1 record and has won seven straight matches from No. 1 singles, while Geissler holds an 8-1 record from No. 2 singles. Also playing well this season is
Jack Dausman (5-4),
Martin Matov (6-3),
DJ Colantone (4-3),
Nicholas Urban (4-1) and
Eric Zwemer (4-3). In doubles, the Colantone and Lescoulie are 6-3 from No. 1 doubles, while Geissler and Matov hold a 6-2 record from the No. 2 pairing. Dausman and Urban have also played excellent this season as they have gone 5-1 from the No. 3 position.

In addition, Lescoulie received the GLIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week award after he went 6-0 during the team's spring trip, and paired up with Colantone as they defeated the Concordia (N.Y.) duo that was ranked seventh nationally.

Grand Valley State travels to Indianapolis, Ind. to battle Division I opponent Butler, on Friday (March. 15), with first serve at 5 p.m. at the Butler Bubble, as the Bulldogs are 11-4 on the year. In singles, Butler is led by Mason Dragos (11-2) from No. 1 singles and Thomas Brennan (7-1) from the No. 2 slot. In doubles action Dragos and Ryan Roenger are 4-1 from the No. 1 position, while Ben Shabat and Adrian Mag hold a 6-2 record from No. 2 doubles. Brennan and Spencer Lang are also 7-3 from the No. 3 slot.

GVSU will then head to Evansville, Ind. to face in-region opponent Southern Indiana on Saturday (March 16) at the USI Tennis Courts, as the match will begin at 12 noon.
 The Screaming Eagles, who play out of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) are 6-6 this season. In singles and doubles play during dual matches, USI is 35-29 in singles and 16-19 in doubles.
