The Grand Valley State women's tennis team is set to play its final home match of the 2018-19 season on Sunday (Feb. 24) at 4:45 p.m. when they host regional opponent Walsh (Ohio), at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Club in Grandville, Mich. The Lakers will also honor their five seniors prior to the match.
 
The Lakers enters the match holding a 12-2 record, while the Cavaliers are 4-4 on the season. As a team, GVSU holds an 84-21 overall singles record while going 36-16 in doubles. During dual matches, the Lakers are 62-14 in singles and 29-12 during doubles.
 
Grand Valley State's Vera Griva and Madison Ballard are also ranked in the top-13 in the Midwest Region in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings as Griva is third in the region and Ballard is 13th. Griva is also ranked nationally as she sits at No. 31. Additionally, Griva and Marily Canellopoulos are fifth in the region in doubles.
