Grand Valley State finished third at the 2019 Northwood Invitational Monday at the Midland Country Club, carding a 289 final round for a 54-hole score of 892. The Lakers' 289 tied for the low round of the day. Wayne State finished first (865) and Northwood second (876). GVSU will conclude the fall portion of its schedule Oct. 19 and 20 at the Davenport Invitational (Stoatin Brae Golf Club, Augusta, Mich.).

Freshman Charles DeLong carded a final round 69 and moved up six spots into a tie for second with a 216 (+6). DeLong's 69 was the third lowest round of the tourney and one of only four golfers to shoot in the 60's. Matt Orwig tied for 17th after shooting a final round 74 for a 224 (+14), followed by Nick Krueger who moved up 12 spots with a final round 70 for a 54-hole score of 225 (+15). Drew Coble fired a final round 75 and finished 27th with a 228 (+18), while Alex Jordan finished 41st after shooting a 79 final 18 (235/+25). Eric Nunn finished 28th playing as an individual with a 229 (+19).
