Results
The Grand Valley State women's tennis team (3-0 overall, 3-0 GLIAC) won its third consecutive match after they claimed a 7-0 win over Purdue Northwest (3-3 overall, 0-3 GLIAC) Sunday afternoon. The Lakers return to action next weekend (Oct. 6-7) when they travel to the Upper Peninsula for matches against Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech.
GVSU started the match off strong in doubles play, after they won all three matches and claimed the first point of the match. Playing out of the No. 1 pairing was 
Marily Canellopoulos and 
Vera Griva, where they claimed a 6-0 victory, followed by another 6-0 win from  
Madison Ballard and 
Nicole Heiniger out of the No. 2 doubles position. Playing from the No. 3 spot was the duo of 
Livia Christman and 
Liv Hanover, as they claimed a 6-2 win to complete the sweep in doubles.
GVSU dominated Purdue Northwest in singles, as the Lakers dropped only 11 games throughout the six matches. Ballard won 6-1, 6-1, from the No. 1 position while Griva won 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2 slot. 
Marija Leko and Canellopoulos both won their matches from the No. 3 and No. 4 spots. Leko won 6-0, 6-1, as Canellopoulos claimed a 6-4, 6-1 victory. Earning the final points for the Lakers were Christman and Hanover as they earned convicinceing wins from the No. 5 and No. 6 positions. Christman won 6-1, 6-0, followed by a 6-2, 6-0 victory from Hanover.
