The Grand Valley State men's tennis team traveled to Tiffin and claimed a 5-4 win over the Dragons and improved to 12-6 overall and 4-2 in the GLIAC on Friday afternoon.

The Lakers led after doubles play 2-1, with victories from
Alex van de Steenoven and
Drew Coleman after they claimed a 8-5 win from No. 1 doubles, while
Sebastien Lescoulie and
DJ Colantone tailed an 8-3 victory from the No. 2 slot. The duo of
Nicholas Urban and
Jack Geissler fell 8-2 from the No. 3 doubles position.

In singles, the teams would split the matches three a piece, as the Lakers claimed victories from the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 positions. Geissler and Steenoven both won 6-3, 6-2, from No. 2 and No. 3 singles, while Urban earned a point for the Lakers after he won 6-3, 6-3 from the No. 3 position. Lescoulie fell 6-4, 6-1 from the No.1 position, while Coantone and Coleman were also defeated from the No. 5 and No. 6 singles position by scores of 7-6, 6-2, and 6-4, 6-3.

Grand Valley State's next match will be tomorrow, April 7 as they travel to Detroit, Michigan to battle Wayne State at 10 a.m.
