The Grand Valley State men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to the #23-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers fall to 10-6 on the season and 2-2 against conference foes, while the Bulldogs improve to 14-2 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

GVSU captured its two points in the match in singles competition, from #72-ranked
Sebastien Lescoulie and
Marcus Muniz Infante. Lescoulie, played out of the No. 1 position and captured an impressive 6-1, 6-0 win, while Muniz won 7-6 (0), 6-1, from the No. 6 singles slot. Playing from the No. 2 singles spot,
Jack Geissler fell 6-2, 7-5, while
Alex van de Steenoven was defeated in three sets, after he won the first set 6-1 but then fell in the next two by a score 6-0, 6-3, at No. 3 singles.
Nicholas Urban (6-1, 7-5)Â and
DJ Colantone (6-3, 6-2)Â were unable to pick up victories for the Lakers from the No. 4 and No. 5 singles position.

In doubles play, the Lakers struggled as the Bulldogs won all three matches. Steenoven and Lescoulie and fell 8-5 from No. 1 doubles, as Colantone and Geissler were defeated 8-4 from the No. 2 pairing and
Eric Zwemer and Urban lost 8-3, from No. 3 doubles.

Grand Valley State's final home match on the season will be next Wednesday (April 4) as they host Davenport at the Premier Athletic & Tennis Club in Grandville, Mich. for a 3 p.m. start.
