The #23-ranked Grand Valley State women's tennis team fell to the Keiser Seahawks in a 7-2 decision on Sunday afternoon at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus. The Lakers are now 17-3 on season.

GVSU picked up its two points on the afternoon, after Abby Perkins won in a long three set match out of the No. 4 singles position. Perkins won the first set 6-2, but fell in the second 6-2, before winning by a score of 14-12 in the third. Olivia Hanover tallied another point for the team, as she played from the No. 5 position and won 6-4, 7-5. Madison Ballard played from the No. 1 singles position and fell 6-3, 6-2, while Alexa Sweeney was also defeated 6-2, 6-1, from the No. 2 slot. Aimee Moccia (6-3, 6-1) and Nicole Heiniger (7-4,7-6(4)) fell from the No. 3 and No. 6 singles.

In doubles play, the Lakers were unable to find their groove, as they dropped all three matches.

The Lakers will conclude their Spring Trip tomorrow (Mar. 12) for a 12:30 p.m.  match against Auburn Montgomery at Red Bug Lake Park in Seminole County, Florida.
