GRANDVILLE, Mich. -- The Grand Valley State men's tennis team was able to defeat Hillsdale on Saturday night 9-0 at the Premier Athletic Club in Grandville, Mich. The Lakers remain undefeated in the spring season after the victory against the Chargers and improve to 4-0 on the year while Hillsdale falls to 3-2.
Sebastien Lescoulie continued his hot streak at No. 1 singles for the Lakers, taking down Charlie Adams from Hillsdale 6-3, 6-3 and improving to 3-0 in singles play and 2-0 at the No. 1 singles spot.
Jack Geissler took home a win at the No. 3 singles spot with a victory over Dugan Delp 6-3, 6-4 to improve to 4-0 on the season in singles play.
Nicholas Urban was able to win the No. 5 singles matchup against Julien Clouette with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over the Charger. The No. 6 singles matchup for the Lakers was won by
Eric Zwemer in a 6-1, 6-2 result against Jerry Hewitt.
The doubles matchups were won in the first two matches to finish as the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams from GVSU were able to win against their counter-parts as
Alex van de Steenoven and Lescoulie paired to take down Hillsdale's Adams and John Ciraci in No. 2 doubles by a score of 8-5. The No. 3 doubles team of Urban and Geissler defeated Clouette and Milan Mirkovic of Hillsdale 8-2.
The Lakers will continue GLIAC play against Findlay on Sunday night at 6:00 pm at the Premier Athletic Club.
