Dual Match Results

GRANDVILLE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team began the fall season with a dominant 9-0 performance against Michigan Tech at the Premier Athletic Club in Grandville, Mich. on Saturday.

Matches were moved to the indoor facility as a result of inclement weather in the forecast for the Allendale area.

Doubles competition saw the Lakers win all three matches against the Huskies. The No. 1 pairing of Madison Ballard and Alexa Sweeney defeated Michigan Tech's Kwang Suthijindawong and Sandra Cvetanovic 8-1.  No. 2 doubles proved to be positive for the Lakers as Rachel Sumner and Aimee Moccia defeated Paola Quintana and Allenca Rolim 8-5.

Each of GVSU's singles participants were able to grab their matches in straight sets, including Ballard in No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-3 win over Michigan Tech's Suthijindawong. Suthijindawong was previously undefeated in GLIAC singles matches. No. 2 singles showed a strong performance by GVSU's Sweeney.
