MIDLAND, Mich. - #37 Grand Valley State men's tennis picked up their fifth consecutive win and fourth straight win over a conference opponent with a 6-3 decision against #47 Northwood at the Gerstacker Courts Sunday afternoon. With the win, GVSU improves to 13-6 overall and 6-1 in the conference.

The Lakers won all three doubles matches by a combined score of 25-18 to earn three team points and take an early lead over the Timberwolves (7-6, 3-2 GLIAC).

GVSU split singles competition, earning them three team points and the match. Bole and Urban both needed to win a third set to take their matches, while Heiniger won his match in two sets. Heiniger won match No. 4 (6-2, 6-0), Bole took match No. 5 (3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (11-9)) in a tight three sets, including a thrilling tiebreaker in the third set, and Urban won match No. 6 (5-7, 6-4, 6-1).

Grand Valley State wraps up their regular season this weekend with two final GLIAC matches. The Lakers will host Tiffin on Saturday (Apr. 23) at 10 am and then Walsh on Sunday (Apr. 24) at 10 am, both at the GVSU Tennis Courts barring inclement weather.
