MONROEVILLE, PA. – After two weeks without a competitive match, #30 Grand Valley State came out against #37 Indiana (PA) and gave the Crimson Hawks their first loss of the season by winning 7-2. The win gives GVSU, ranked third in the Midwest Region, a 21-5 record while giving IUP a 13-1 record.

In singles, the Lakers won four of six matches to give them four team points and the win. Every singles match was a hard-fought battle, with four matches requiring a third tiebreaker set.
Abby Perkins in the No. 1 position (2-6, 6-4, 10-8) and
Alexa Sweeney in the No. 2 position (1-6, 7-5, 10-4) both won their matches after losing the first set, while Christman won match No. 4 (7-6 (7-5), 6-3) and
Nicole Heiniger won match No. 5 (6-3, 7-6 (7-4)) to give GV their 21st win of the year.
