ALLENDALE, Mich. - #37 Grand Valley State upped their winning streak to three matches on Sunday (Apr. 10) with an 8-1 win over visiting Lake Superior State at the Premier Athletic Club in Grandville. GVSU's record improves to 11-6 and 4-1 in the conference, while they sit in fourth in the GLIAC behind Ferris State, Wayne State and Northwood.

Nicholas Urban won match No. 3 (8-2) to put the team up big going into singles competition.

GVSU took five out of the six singles flights to take the match over LSSU, with all winning matches coming in straight sets. Phillips won match No. 2 (6-0, 6-2), while Lescoulie and Heiniger both took matches three and four by a score of 6-0, 6-1.
Andrew Bole won match No. 5 (6-1, 6-1), and Urban won match No. 6 in a shutout (6-0, 6-0). Although he lost the match, Steenoven took match No. 1 to a tiebreaker (6-4, 3-6, 10-7).

Grand Valley State will travel for their next set of matches against two of the top teams in the conference. The Lakers will first head east to take on Wayne State on Saturday (Apr. 16) before traveling north to face Northwood on Sunday (Apr. 17).
