INDIANAPOLIS - #37 Grand Valley State men's tennis was victorious in a close 5-4 decision over #46 Missouri-St. Louis in Indianapolis to end their non-conference schedule. The Laker men improve to 9-6 following the win.

The competition between the nationally and regionally ranked squads began in doubles competition, with the Lakers gaining an early advantage.

Alex van de Steenoven won match No. 1 (8-6) and

Sebastien Lescoulie took match No. 2 (8-4) top put the Lakers up 2-1 going into singles competition.

GV won three singles matches for three points, giving them five team points for the win over the Tritons. Steenoven won match No. 1 (6-1, 6-3), Lescoulie took match No. 3 in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-1), and
Andrew Bole won match No,. 5 (6-1, 6-2) to secure the Lakers' ninth win of the season.

Grand Valley State turns their attentions back to GLIAC play with a pair of home matches. The Lakers will take on Michigan Tech on April 9 at the GVSU Tennis Courts at 10 am.
