Men's Tennis Drops 8-1 Match to Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS - #37 Grand Valley State dropped their second consecutive match when they dropped an 8-1 decision to #19 Indianapolis at the UIndy Tennis Center Friday afternoon. The Lakers drop to 8-6 on the year with the loss.
 
Grand Valley State started off the match against the top-ranked team in the Midwest Region by losing all three doubles matches. All three doubles pairings – Zach Phillips/Alex van de Steenoven, Jack Heiniger/Sebastien Lescoulie, and Nicholas Urban/Michael Kaye – lost their matches by the score of 8-3.
 
Urban prevented the Lakers from getting shutout by winning his match in singles competition. The freshman won match No. 6 in straight sets (6-1, 6-1). Steenoven was the only Laker who lost his match to take it to a third set (6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-0)).
 
Grand Valley State is back in action on Saturday (Mar. 26) when they take on Missouri-St. Louis at 6 pm.
