FINDLAY, Ohio - The Laker women's tennis team swept Findlay on the road, winning the match by a score of 9-0. With the win today, the Lakers are now 6-2 on the season.
Sophomore
Madison Ballard lead the way in No. 1 singles and defeated Tijana Raicevic by a score of 6-4, 6-4. Junior
Abby Perkins dominated her match, defeating Sheridan Mclean 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 3 singles spot
Aimee Moccia also cruised to a victory by taking down Mikaela Hindenlang 6-1, 6-0. Also getting wins in singles play was
Livia Christman (4-6, 6-1, 10-2),
Nicole Heiniger (6-1, 6-1), and
Rachel Sumner (6-0, 6-0).
The duo of Sweeney and Moccia won their match in doubles competition by defeating Raicevic and Mclean by a score of 8-3. Also winning by a score of 8-3 was the pair of Perkins and Christman in the No. 2 doubles position where they faced Matina Matic and Hindenlang. Ballard and Heiniger teamed up to take an easy 8-0 victory over Kaylee Davis and Kristi McDonald.

Calla Ramont,
Katarina Samardzija in the Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational. On the final day of action, Schrepferman lost the quarterfinal match to Viktoria Monakhova of Olivet Nazarene 6-4, 6-1. After the loss, Schrepferman bounced back and defeated Alexandra Talyansky of Wisconsin-Whitewater (6-0, 6-4) to take third place in No. 2 singles competition. Samardzija also lost her opening match of the day but bounced back to defeat Merle Schlaeger of St. Francis (Ill.) to finish seventh in No. 3 singles. After losing her first match of the tournament, Ramont defeated Alicia Beck of Wisconsin-Whitewater (5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (13-11)) to move on to the consolation final. In the final, Ramont had another come from behind victory by winning 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-7) against Cary Milanes of Western Illinois.
The Lakers will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 15 in a home dual match against the Cavaliers of Walsh.
