ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's tennis winning streak continued as the Lakers took a 6-3 decision over the Wayne State Warriors at the Ramblewood Tennis & Health Club in Grandville, Mich. The Lakers improved to 12-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference with their fifth-straight win, while Wayne State's record dropped to 7-8 overall and 3-3 GLIAC action.
The Warriors jumped out to a 2-1 lead after winning the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches.

Alex van de Steenoven picked up the lone win for GVSU in doubles competition, winning the tiebreaker point 10-2 to take the match, 9-8.
Singles competition is where the Lakers would claim the match, as Grand Valley State won four of the five matches to take the win over the Warriors.
Francis Bertrand (7-5, 6-2) in the No. 1,
Zach Phillips (6-2, 6-4) in the No. 2,
Bryan Hodges (6-1, 6-2) in the No. 5, and
Andrew Bole (6-4, 6-2) in the No. 6 all won their matches in straight sets, while
Jack Heiniger (6-3, 2-6, 6-2) in the No. 4 needed a tiebreaker set.
Grand Valley State closes their home schedule at the GVSU Tennis Courts at noon against GLIAC opponent Northwood.
